Dr. Mahrukh Chishty grew up in Stockton, California, alongside her two sisters and supportive parents. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from UC Davis and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at UC Berkeley in 2006. For nearly 20 years, Dr. Chishty has proudly served the Central Valley, Tri-Valley and Bay Area communities, providing comprehensive eye care with passion, skill, and dedication.

Dr. Chishty offers full-scope eye exams, retinal imaging, and contact lens fittings, and she diagnoses and manages a wide range of ocular conditions, including dry eye disease, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and urgent red eye conditions. When advanced care is needed, she coordinates timely referrals to trusted ophthalmologists. Her practice also features a thoughtfully curated, stylish frame collection designed to suit a wide variety of tastes and lifestyles.

At the heart of Dr. Chishty’s work is a deep commitment to helping patients live their best lives through the gift of clear vision. She strives to optimize eyesight so her patients can fully appreciate the beauty of the people and world around them—and finds immense joy in knowing she plays a meaningful role in that experience.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Chishty is a tabla performer who enjoys Indian classical music with her sisters, exploring new countries, cooking, and spending time with her teenage son and her cat, Safiya. Opening her own optical practice in Moraga has been a long-held dream, and she is excited and honored to serve the local community.
